YOU ARE MY GOLDEN VESSEL!

One night a few years ago, after getting into bed, I said, “Good night Father.” Immediately God replied, “Good night Son…Good night Daughter.” Upon first hearing God’s words I was temporarily confused. However, it didn’t take me long before I understood what he was saying to me. I realized that Yahweh was saying goodnight to his Son Jesus before saying goodnight to me.

Yahweh’s words to me gave me a whole new understanding of what God sees when he looks at me. The first thing he sees when he looks at his precious Daughter is his precious Son. He sees his Son Jesus first, because Jesus’s Spirit is living inside of me, and it is Jesus who makes me righteous and pure. It is because of what Jesus did on the cross to atone for my sins that I am even able to communicate with my heavenly Father. So of course Yahweh sees his Son Jesus in me every single time he looks at me.

That is such good news! In fact, that is the best news ever! What that means is that I don’t have to be perfect in order to enter into my heavenly Father’s presence, because Jesus was perfect for me. What that means is that I can come as I am, whether I am an emotional mess, or in a good mood. Whether I had a great day, or whether I really messed things up. Regardless of how my day went or is going, I can enter into God’s presence and communicate with him at any moment of any day, because of Jesus within me. What a relief!

Earlier this month, as I was thinking about this encounter, I decided I wanted to find out more. So I said to God, “Tell me more Father. What EXACTLY do you see when you look at me?” He responded, “A golden vessel.”

What first came to my mind is that a vessel is designed to carry something. What next came to my mind are all the golden objects that could be found in the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle and then the temple in the Bible. Finally what came to mind was the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark of the Covenant was a box that God instructed Moses to build out of wood and then to completely cover in pure gold. Its purpose was to house and carry the two tablets of stone with the Ten Commandments and Yahweh’s name inscribed upon them. This “golden vessel” was considered extremely holy, because of what was inside of it: God’s Word and his Name. The Ark resided in the Holy of Holies, first in the tabernacle in the wilderness and then in Solomon’s temple.

So…why does God see me, and ALL believers, as his “golden vessels,” such as the Ark of the Covenant?

I know that when we put our trust in Jesus and accept him as our Lord and Savior, Yahweh immediately sends us the Counselor, the Holy Spirit given in Jesus’s holy name to reside within us. In that moment we become his vessels, his carriers, of his Holy Spirit and Jesus’s name. In that moment when Yahweh’s Holy Spirit sent in Jesus’s name comes to dwell within us, it’s as if our flesh becomes completely covered by God’s majestic Glory. In that moment, our “golden bodies,” become the vessel, like the Ark of the Covenant by which God’s Word and his name can be brought to the ends of the earth.

While pondering this beautiful image that Yahweh gave me about our bodies covered in his GLORY, I was humbled to think about what God has entrusted for me to carry within myself for him and his kingdom purposes.

I realized how important of a role I play in carrying God’s absolute TRUTH inside of me. I came to understand how critical it is that my words and actions reflect the TRUTH that I carry around, so that unbelievers will be drawn to the truth of Jesus and his ways. I recognized the role I play in reflecting and shining the TRUTH of Jesus to those I come into contact with. I was convicted that in order to reflect the truth of Yahweh and his Son Jesus, my golden vessel needs to shine brightly.

I realized just how important it is for me to spend time with God often so that he can continue to refine me, my thoughts, my beliefs, my words, and my actions, just as gold is refined over and over again in order to achieve the highest purity.

The purpose of meeting with God regularly, is so that he can purify me into the GOLDEN VESSEL that I was designed to be. He wants to wash my heart with his Word. He wants to remove the impurities from my mind, so that I can be restored, renewed and refreshed. God needs time with me in order to identify and then remove any false beliefs or lies that the enemy has convinced me is truth. The enemy would like for me to believe that I am worthless, but Yahweh wants to convince me how valuable and priceless I am to him. For he has chosen me to carry his Spirit and Name into the world. There is no higher purpose that I could be given.

I therefore will make time to meet with my Lord and Savior daily, in order to become the most pure golden vessel that I can become, as a thank you for all that Jesus has done for me. I know that every time I meet with Yahweh and Jesus in the Holy of Holies, I come out a little more brilliant than when I entered.

So won't you join me in becoming the shiniest golden vessel that you were meant to be by spending a LOT OF TIME with your Creator, your Savior, your Heavenly Father, and allowing him to refine you into pure gold, like his Son Jesus. Visit Yahweh and Jesus in the Holy of Holies often, because, like the Ark of the Covenant, YOU BELONG THERE!

“Therefore brethren, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way which he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10: 19-22
