One morning, as I sat down for my quiet time with the Lord, I heard him say, “Exodus.” He didn’t give me a verse or chapter, so I just opened my Bible to my favorite chapter in Exodus and started reading. After reading my favorite chapter about God allowing Moses to see his Glory pass him by, I continued on reading the next two chapters, which is about Moses receiving instructions from Yahweh for the building of the Tabernacle and everything that was to be placed inside of it.

In order for the Tabernacle to be built to Yahweh’s specifications, many valuable resources would be needed. So Moses assembled all the congregation and said to them, “Take from among you an offering to the Lord; whoever is of a GENEROUS HEART, let him bring the Lord’s offering: gold, silver and bronze; blue and purple and scarlet stuff and fine twined linen; goats’ hair, tanned rams’ skins, and goatskins; acacia wood, oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, and onyx stones and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. And let every ABLE MAN among you come and make all that the Lord has commanded; the tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; the ark with its poles, the mercy seat and the veil of the screen; the table….” (Exodus 35:5-13)

The list went on and on. There were so many needs for the building of God’s new Tabernacle.

So what did the congregation of Israel do? They departed from Moses and went home. Scripture says that when they returned, “They came, every one whose heart stirred him, and every one whose spirit moved him, and brought the Lord’s offering to be used for the tent of meeting, and for its service, and for the holy garments.” (Exodus 35:2)

People sacrificed their gold, silver, and bronze, their valuables; whatever was needed for the building of the Tabernacle. Everyone whose heart stirred him. Every one whose spirit moved him. They came both men and women, all who were of a willing heart. Everyone who came made an offering.

Men and women also donated their time and their talents. Men used their hands to build the structure of the tabernacle, and everything in it, while the women used their hands to spin the cloth needed. Every able man and woman contributed their God given abilities to the Lord.

EVERY MORNING the congregation continued to bring Moses their FREEWILL offerings, whatever the Lord led them to bring or do!

In fact, there were so many freewill offerings that Moses one morning said, “The people bring much more than enough for doing the work the Lord has commanded us to do.” So Moses gave command, and the word was proclaimed throughout the camp, “Let neither man nor woman do anything more for the offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing; for the stuff they had was sufficient to do all the work, and MORE!!! (Exodus 36:5-7)

WHAT??? I had never seen this verse before, like I did on this particular morning. Moses actually told his people to STOP GIVING. He said WE HAVE ENOUGH for all the work the Lord has asked of us, and MORE!

Can you imagine Yahweh ever saying those words to his people in today’s world? I can’t, because there are so many needs, so many important causes, so many injustices. At first glance, I just can’t imagine there ever being enough to meet the needs of what God wants to do in this world.

But what if…just maybe…every day when Christians woke up, they asked God, “What freewill offering can I bring you today Father? Who needs my love? What can I supply the kingdom with today? Who or what charity needs my provision? How can I help? Who can I hug, or give an encouraging word to? Who can I bring food to or visit? Where would you like to volunteer my time and talents? Who needs me as a friend or a mentor? Who needs a listening ear? Who do you want me to pray with today?”

What would the world look like if every heart that was stirred by the Lord acted upon his wishes? What if every willing heart actually did what God was asking them to do? This world would definitely be entirely different. The world would be more peaceful. People would be more joyful. Love would abound.

More people would go to bed with their bellies full and with stable roofs over their heads, because God’s children would give what they could to feed and cloth and build homes for the poor. Unwanted children would have permanent homes, because God’s people would willingly foster them or adopt them. The widows, homeless, jobless, orphans and elderly would be cared for the way God would want them to be cared for. Neighbors would lend each other a helping hand with their abilities. Bibles would be donated in abundance throughout the world, so that everyone could have the opportunity to get to know Jesus. Every need would be met, because there would always be a willing hand ready to help, and donated resources available.

Truly all we have to do is our part! And God will take care of the rest.

You might say… “But I don’t have anything to offer. I barely have enough myself.” Or maybe, “I just don’t have time to volunteer.” Or, “I don’t have any talents that would be useful to God’s kingdom.” If I may be blunt, those are simply excuses that are keeping you from blessing others and in return being abundantly blessed yourself.

The Israelites were not rich. In fact they had just come out of Egypt as slaves, when Moses asked them for freewill offerings. As slaves they owned practically nothing. And yet on their way out of Egypt God gave the Israelites favor with the Egyptians. The Egyptians gave the Israelites EVERYTHING that was needed for the building of the Tabernacle. As a result the Israelites had offerings to give to the cause.

Trust me the enemy wants you to believe that you have nothing to offer or that you don’t have time! That is a complete and utter lie and is not truth, and that is why the world looks the way it does. Every single Christian has a lot to offer the world and if we all stepped up and did our part, we would see dramatic changes. If you are living and breathing, and a believer, then you have the greatest gift of all, the TRUTH about JESUS. If every Christian, would just once a week, share the Gospel with someone they come into contact with, think of all the seeds that would be planted weekly across the globe. Think of the possible life transformation that could be taking place because God’s children are freely sharing the truth about Jesus with unbelievers.

Yes…God is in need of a lot of resources for the building of his Church on earth in today’s world. But there are also a lot of believers on earth who can help. All we have to do is pool our resources. Among us all we have plenty of resources, time, abilities and talents that could be donated for God’s cause. Therefore, we need to freely give the Lord our offerings, of all kinds, on a regular basis.

It may be far-fetched and unbelievable, but I believe with God’s help the impossible could become possible. I can actually see it in my minds eye. I can imagine what this world would look like if there was ENOUGH. I can envision every believer giving what they can day after day after day, and as a result God placing favor upon them and blessing them with even more to give. I can see God then saying to his people, with a grateful heart, “Children you have done well! Let’s take a few days off. What you have given day after day after day with a generous heart is sufficient for my Kingdom work and MORE. WE HAVE ENOUGH!”

So will you join me today in committing to bringing your freewill offerings to the Lord daily? He will show you what is desperately needed. God knows what you have, and he knows what you can give. He knows what volunteer work will fit your personality and talents. He knows who you will run into each day and how you can personally bless them. Won’t you consider giving back to your Creator and Savior some of what he has so graciously blessed you with?

Start by asking the Lord, "How can I help?" You will never regret it. In fact, you will find that GIVING becomes very addicting, something that you look forward to doing daily, and something you can’t live life without doing. When you give of yourself wholly to the Lord’s Kingdom, it is guaranteed that you will see, over and over again, Yahweh’s Glory pass you by!!!

“Bring in the full tithes into the storehouses, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.” (Malachi 3:10)
